The Best Rimmba Sustainable Products
June 20 2022
Producers and consumers of fashion have been taking mindful moves for some time now. With ethical clothing brands multiplying by the minute, slow fashion is no longer just a trend to ride.
From fiber to finish, our garments go through many stages before they reach their final destination: you. But we hope their journey doesn’t stop there.
Sustainable fashion doesn’t have to be perfect; every effort to lower fashion’s environmental impact is beneficial regardless of its size. As a consumer, you can shop consciously and make sure your outfits live a longer life.
Our part as an eco-friendly fashion business is holding ourselves accountable for the waste produced while providing transparency through every process.
Enter the circular model. Instead of extracting natural resources to create products and throwing them away once we’re done, the ethical and sustainable clothing brand approach is in such a way that the cycle carries on. At the end of the day, everything can be reused or reintegrated back into the natural environment.
Today, we dive into our approach to the zero-waste mentality and our contribution to closing the loop in fashion through our best sustainable products of the year, here at RIMMBA.
Pua Silk Pillow Case
SHOP NOW
Coveted for its gentle touch on the face and hair, silk pillow cases give a new meaning to beauty sleep. Our Pua Silk Pillow Case is made from the highest quality mulberry silk and hand-dyed from plants and minerals, guaranteed to glide over the skin as you enter your slumber.
The colors are achieved from marigold flowers, sourced from the marigold farm just next door to our atelier, and onion-skin leftovers from making pickles at home. This means the extraction of our plant dyes have or have had a variety of other uses within the community.
Opting for naturally-dyed products for your nightly routine has more impact that extends beyond sustainable beauty benefits. Natural dyes are biodegradable, non-toxic and non-allergenic, making them safer for use around humans, as they don't have any carcinogenic components, as well as for the earth.
You’ll less likely wake up with a bedhead or a breakout and it’s gentle on the environment. A total win-win.
Nusa Silk Chiffon Blouse - Indigo TieDye
SHOP NOW
Our Nusa Silk Chiffon Blouse is made from 100% mulberry silk chiffon by artisans in Tejakula, a coastal village in north Bali. Our designers incorporate elastic bands and strings to construct the pattern of the blouse. They then sew them together to keep the design in shape before creating the full print.
The brilliant-blue hue contrasted by the pastel shade is achieved from the leaves of the true indigo plant, also known as Indigofera Tinctoria. This color is used in many hand-dye and natural-dye techniques as many find the electric hue stunning and it is unlikely to fade, especially when used on ethically-sourced and sustainable fabrics such as our silks.
The indigo plant loves the tropical climate. We are fortunate enough to be in abundance. Other uses of the indigo plant-turned-powder dyes within the community are for cooking and herbal medicine.
Nindy Silk Pants - Champagne
SHOP NOW
The magical pants that go with everything, our Nindy Silk Pants are cut on the bias, making any woman’s legs look longer and slimmer. With no zipper and only a tiny elastic waistband, they are extremely easy to slip on to complete any summer style.
As a slow fashion brand, we refrain from overproducing. The Nindy Silk Pants can be tailor-made and botanically hand-dyed just for you! Manufacturing will only begin once we receive your order, rather than mass-producing them. This way, we can reduce levels of the surplus stock ending up in landfills.
Zion Cotton Corduroy Overalls - Green Natural Dye
SHOP NOW
A tried-and-true crowd favorite. The Zion Cotton Corduroy Overalls is hand-dyed in our Canggu atelier using the mango leaf and indigo plant to blend yellow and blue together, creating a gorgeous blue-green tint.
Applying the natural dye technique on cotton corduroy is still quite rare. We wonder why little to no brands have done so, as we find it to be greatly durable. Plus, the color retention is amazing. If more eco-friendly approaches on dyes such as botanical dyes are embraced by a larger part of the industry, we believe fewer companies will be so reliant on toxic synthetically-dyed fabrics.

The design is easy to slip on and off all body sizes but our tailor can adjust it to your wishes. Not one is the same.
