RIMMBA: Origins of the nameSustainable Designer's Clothing in BaliAs a botanical dye fashion designer in Bali, Karunia chose the name "Rimba", meaning "deep forest" or "wild jungle" in Indonesian. The word evokes untamed beauty, hidden treasures and quiet wisdom. Drawn from a cherished childhood story, it inspired our founder, Karunia Fischer, to create RIMMBA — a brand that celebrates nature’s artistry, honors ancient traditions. Using only natural dyes, RIMMBA aims to weave a gentler, more sustainable future for fashion in Bali and worldwide. In practice, this means:
A Journey of Discovery and TransformationFor Karunia, the rimba represents more than just a physical landscape; it's a metaphor for our inner journey of self-discovery and transformation. Not only does it hold the textures of memory, but it also invites mindful practice. Just as the jungle hides secrets waiting to be uncovered, RIMMBA invites you to explore the depths of your own intuition and embrace a more conscious way of living. |
Bali Designer with Local HeritageRegenerative clothing, reimaginedOur garments are a tangible expression of this journey. They are handcrafted by skilled Balinese artisans using time-honored techniques. Each piece carries the spirit of the island, the wisdom of generations past, and the care of many hands. We use botanical dyes drawn from native plants because, when produced responsibly, natural dyes can be biodegradable and non-toxic. In doing so, we honour the healing power of nature and the vibrant colours of our homeland. |
