Eco-Print Silk Chiffon Scarf - Marigold
Mulberry silk chiffon scarf was eco-printed with eucalyptus leaves and botanicals local to Indonesia, creating warm marigold tones. The chiffon scarf measures 2 meters (78,8'') long by 70 cm (27.6'') wide.
Chiffon silk is light and transparent and has the advantage of not slipping off your collar on windy days and prints beautifully using this all-natural dyeing technique.
Eco-printing is a technique where leaves from specific trees and plants are arranged on material and with the application of natural solutions, heat, and moisture the tannins and pigments in the leaves produce wonderful prints on the fabric. In this piece, eucalyptus leaves create rich marigold hues, unique to each scarf.
It is a natural process, and no harmful dyes are discarded into the environment. Subtle embossed effects of leaves and tiny creases are an additional feature of this technique.
This process of botanical contact printing, also known as eco-printing, makes for a unique one-of-a-kind piece of art to wear.
